Tampa, Fla. (April 3, 2023) – No. 64 USF Women’s Tennis took down host Houston 4-1 to cap off a three-match stretch in Texas. The Bulls won two of the three matches, beating #48 Rice in the first match, dropping the second to #36 FIU and ending the trip with the win over Houston.

After dropping the first doubles match, USF won the next two to chalk up the first point.
 
On court one,  Sierra Berry, and Grace Schumacher  were beaten 4-6, dropping their  doubles record to 6-4 on the season.

 
On court three, Laura Pellicer and Ireland Simme took a 6-3 win to even things up.

Marta Falceto Font and Nadja Bay Christians sealed the doubles team win with a 6-4 triumph on court two. The duo has won their last four doubles matches.

In singles play, Cliona Walsh  earned the Bulls’ first point with a 6-4, 6-0 win. Walsh improved her singles record to 9-4 on the season.

Houston claimed the next point with a Gabriela Cortes win over Ireland Simme 6-3, 6-3.

The Bulls sealed the victory by taking the next two matches. Laura Pellicer coming off her doubles win, gave the Bulls another point with a 6-3, 7-5 victory. 

Marta Falceto Font, after notching a win in doubles, capped off her day with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph to clinch the match for the Bulls.

 
The win marked the Bulls’ eight win in their last nine matches, improving their season record to 12-6.
