Softball – Sharks Advance to NCAA South Region II Final

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Softball team secured a spot in the South Region II Championship, defeating Auburn Montgomery in the second round of the NCAA South Regional Tournament. The Sharks were led by a two-RBI performance from Samantha Burke

BOT 3rd | Alyssa Drogemuller started the inning with a hit by pitch, putting a runner on base for NSU. Shortly after, Tia Williams was walked and Kerstyn Shaw singled in back-to-back at bats, loading the bases for Nova. Samantha Burke then singled up the middle, bringing two runners across home plate.  

BOT 4th | With two runners on, Madison Fine came to the plate and batted in a run for NSU, extending the Sharks lead to 3-0. 

TOP 5th | AUM tacked on two runs thanks to a single and triple in back-to-back at bats. 

BOT 5th | The Sharks loaded bases off of an error and two walks. Hayley Lynch was then hit by pitch, bringing the Sharks fourth run home. NSU wasn’t done yet, Alyssa Drogemuller singled up the middle, giving the Sharks a three-run advantage. Nova Southeastern would go on to secure the 5-2 victory over AUM and advance to tomorrow’s South Region II Championship.  

The Sharks will take on the winner of tonight’s game in the South Region II Championship, Saturday, May 13, at University Softball Field in Saint Leo, Fla. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
