Sixteen Florida Swimmers Selected to Compete at 2021 NCAA Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sixteen No. 4 University of Florida women’s swimmers have been invited to compete in the 2021 NCAA Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Taylor Ault, Talia Bates, Elise Bauer, Kenady Beil, Adrianna DeBoer, Kathleen Golding, Madison Kolessar, Katie Mack, Tylor Mathieu, Nikki Miller, Katie Minnich, Vanessa Pearl, Allie Piccirillo, Cecilia Porter, Amanda Ray, and Lain Shahboz all earned individual bids in their respective events during the 2020-21 campaign.

Bates, Mack, and Mathieu lead the way with three individual bids each, with Ault, Bauer, Golding, and Pearl also tallying multiple selections.

In total, Florida will have at least two representatives in nine events, including a team-high five participants in the 1650 free.

UF’s 16 individual swimmers leads the way for the most qualifiers across the entire NCAA. Behind the Gators, is Tennessee with 15, Kentucky with 14 and Virginia with 15.

In total, 281 swimmers from 51 universities will compete individually at the championships.

UF, who finished 24th two years at NCAA’s with 44 points, will have the chance to send more representatives to the national meet with divers heading to NCAA Diving Zones in Greensboro, NC. on March 7-10 to meet qualification scores on the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform dives.

Florida will head into the national meet after posting its third-straight second-place Southeastern Conference Championship finish, tallying 1,071 points over the four days of competition in Athens Ga. on Feb. 17-20.
