BOCA RATON, Fla. – Conference USA has named Florida Atlantic outfielder/first baseman Nolan Schanuel as its ‘Hitter of the Week’, the league announced on Monday. It’s Schanuel’s second career weekly honor. He previously earned the award in February 2021.
The Boynton Beach product enjoyed a career week that began with a three-home run performance on Tuesday at No. 6 Florida. He became just the sixth player in program history to accomplish the feat. Schanuel added another four hits on Saturday and Sunday combined including two more home runs.
The Preseason C-USA Player of the Year finished the five-game stretch 8-for-12 (.667) at the plate with 10 runs scored, five home runs, and 10 RBI. He also walked seven times and stole three bases. In total, Schanuel reached base 18 times in 22 trips to the plate.
