SB: Ponn Named AAC Player of the Week

Gabriella Nori named to Honor Roll  


Irving, Texas, May 1, 2023 – After leading the Bulls to a series shutout sweep over Memphis, senior Vivian Ponn (Fort Myers) has been named this week’s American Athletic Conference Player of the Week. 

Ponn started in all three games as the designated player. In her seven plate appearances, she had five hits, five RBI, and two home runs, finishing the weekend with a .714 average. She had 11 total bases and earned one walk.  

Ponn also made three appearances in the circle. In her 4.1 inning pitched, she allowed no walks and earned the save on Sunday’s 5-0 win.   

Gabriella Nori (Weston) was named to this week’s AAC Honor Roll. The left-handed pitcher started in two games, earning two wins. In 10.1 innings, she struck out six batters. She held the Tigers to a .171 batting average. Nori had a perfect game through five innings in Sunday’s series finale.  

Ponn, Nori, and the South Florida Bulls will close out the 2023 regular season with a trip to Houston to face the Cougars this Friday-Sunday.
