BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic softball team (21-7, 3-1 AAC) had a historic night by hosting their first American Athletic Conference contest on Friday evening. The Owls belted 14 hits and scored 11 runs in the 11-3 win over UAB to assure it would be one to remember.UAB opened the game scoring two runs in the top of the first. The Owls responded with four runs on four hits in the bottom of the first to build a lead they would never surrender. The Blazers added their third and final run in the second, but FAU was not done adding runs in three of last four frames for the 11-3 final.
