BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic softball team picked up a 6-0 victory over FIU on Wednesday night in Miami.
It was a win with gaudy numbers that included freshman shortstop Kiley Channell going 4-for-4 with a double, her 12th of the season, and three RBI. Graduate pitcher Trinity Schlotterbeck drew the start, allowing just one hit after the third and a total of five in the game, in her seven-inning shutout performance. Schlotterbeck moves to 11-2 on the year and recorded her third shutout of 2024.The win is the Owls’ fifth in the last six outings. They are 3-0 versus in-state foe and 24-7 overall.
QUOTABLE
“I’m proud of the girls for taking care of business after a long weekend,” said Jordan Clark, FAU’s head softball coach. “We dominated in all aspects of the game from the first inning to the end. Trinity [Schlotterbeck] was phenomenal on the mound with a big shutout.”

The Owls were 12-for-30 on the night, for a batting average of .400, nearly 100 points higher than their season .307 average
Channell was 4-for-4 on the night but not the only Owl who got a hit in each at bat with Cammeo Presutti going 2-for-2 at the plate
Over the seven innings of work, Schlotterbeck scattered five hits, struck out two, walked two, and hit two
