JAGUARS CLAIM CB GREG MABIN

JACKSONVILLE The Jaguars claimed CB Greg Mabin via waivers from Tennessee to their active roster, the team announced today.  

Mabin has appeared in 29 games with one start during his four-year career, posting 13 tackles, seven special teams tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. After initially signing with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2017, he has spent time with Buffalo, San Francisco, Cincinnati and most recently, Tennessee. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native attended the University of Iowa, where he earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors as a senior.

JAGUARS ANNOUNCE ROSTER MOVES

JACKSONVILLE – DT Abry Jones and LB Shaquille Quarterman have been “designated for return” from the team’s injured reserve list, the club announced today. S Doug Middleton has also been signed to the 53-man active roster from the practice squad.

The club has 21 days to activate Jones and Quarterman to the 53-man active roster. Jones originally went on injured reserve on Oct. 22 with an ankle injury, while Quarterman was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 7 with a knee injury.  

In 2020, NFL clubs are permitted to return an unlimited number of players from either the club’s Reserve/Injured List or from its Reserve/Non-Football Injury/Illness List to the club’s 53-player Active/Inactive List. Such players must have suffered a football-related injury after reporting to training camp and passing the club’s physical and must have been placed on the reserve list following 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 5. To be eligible for return, a player cannot begin to practice until three weeks have elapsed since the date he was placed on a reserve list, and the player cannot return to the Active/Inactive List until three games have elapsed since the date he was placed on Reserve/Injured.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have made the following roster moves, the club announced today:

  • DE Josh Allen (knee), CB D.J. Hayden (hamstring), and S Daniel Thomas (arm) have been placed on injured reserve. Hayden is ineligible to return this season as this is his second appearance on the team’s injured reserve list in 2020. Allen and Thomas are eligible to return to practice and game action in three weeks.
  • K Chase McLaughlin has been placed on the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list.
  • RB Nathan Cottrell has been signed to the 53-man active roster off the practice squad.
  • LB Reggie Gilbert has been signed off of Arizona’s practice squad. He will join the 53-man active roster on Saturday upon successful completion of COVID-19 entry protocols.
  • S Doug Middleton has been signed to the practice squad.

JAGUARS ANNOUNCE PRACTICE SQUAD MOVES

JACKSONVILLE – K Aldrick Rosas has been restored to the team’s practice squad from the practice squad suspended list, the club announced today. In addition, K Jon Brown has been released from the practice squad.

Miami Dolphins make roster moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have activated defensive tackle Christian Wilkins off the reserve/COVID-19* list.

Wilkins has played in 24 career games with 20 starts, totaling 84 tackles (46 solo), three sacks, one interception, seven passes defensed and one fumble recovery. He also has one career reception for one yard and a touchdown. Wilkins originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (13th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2019 NFL draft.

*This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether a player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
