Miami Dolphins Roster Moves

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have elevated wide receiver Isaiah Ford to the active roster for Sunday’s game. The team also elevated tight end Chris Myarick as a COVID-19 replacement.

Ford has played in 16 games in his NFL career, all with Miami (2018-20). He’s totaled 41 receptions for 428 yards (10.4 avg.) and has one carry for 11 yards. Ford was traded by Miami to New England on Nov. 3, 2020 before the Patriots waived him on Dec. 5, 2020. He signed with the Dolphins’ practice squad on Dec. 14, 2020. Ford originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (237th overall) by Miami in the 2017 NFL draft.

Myarick has played in two NFL games but not recorded any statistics. He has spent each of the past two seasons on Miami’s practice squad after entering the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on May 9, 2019. Myarick was a four-year letterman (2015-18) and two-year starter at Temple.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have activated cornerback Jamal Perry off the reserve/COVID-19* list.

Perry has appeared in 10 games with one start for the Dolphins this season, totaling 17 tackles (11 solo) and one pass defensed. He also has five special teams stops (two solo). Perry has played in 24 games with seven starts over the past two seasons (2019-20) for the Dolphins. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Philadelphia on May 11, 2017.

*This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether a player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have activated running back Matt Breida off the reserve/COVID-19* list.

Breida has played in nine games with one start for the Dolphins this season, totaling 47 carries for 168 yards (3.6 avg.) and catching nine passes for 96 yards (10.7 avg.). He joined the Dolphins in a trade with San Francisco on April 25, 2020. During his career, Breida has played 52 games with 19 starts. He spent three seasons with the 49ers (2017-19). Breida originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 4, 2017.

JAGUARS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have made the following roster moves, the club announced.

  • CB Chris Claybrooks and OL Andrew Norwell have been activated from the reserve/injured-designated for return list.
  • CB Tre Herndon has been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
  • CB Quenton Meeks has been elevated to the active/inactive list for tomorrow’s game via standard practice squad elevation.
  • OL Tre’Vour Wallace-Simms (pronounced TREY-vore) has been activated from the practice squad via COVID-19 Replacement.
    • Per NFL protocols, in the event a club places a player on the Reserve/COVID-19 list prior to the applicable player transaction deadline, the club may elevate a practice squad player to its 53-player active/inactive list at any time during that week pursuant to Article 33, Section 5. Any player elevated to the club’s 53-player active/inactive list under this replacement protocol will revert to the club’s practice squad on the first business day following its game, together with any other players elevated from the practice squad in accordance with Article 33, Section 5.   

 The Jaguars have placed WR Terry Godwin, WR Josh Hammond and CB Josh Nurse on the team’s Practice Squad/COVID-19 list, the club announced. 

 The Jaguars have placed LB Kamalei Correa on the team’s exempt/left squad list, the club announced.

 The Jaguars have made the following roster moves, the club announced.

  • CB Tre Herndon has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
    • The Reserve/COVID-19 list is a reserve category created by the NFL for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. Clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
  • OL Brandon Linder has been placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

 CB/RS Chris Claybrooks and OL Andrew Norwell have been designated for return from the team’s injured reserve list, the club announced today. Jacksonville has 21 days to activate Claybrooks and Norwell to the 53-man active roster. Claybrooks was originally placed on injured reserve on Nov. 26 with a core muscle injury and Norwell was originally placed on injured reserve on Nov. 28 with a forearm injury.

In 2020, NFL clubs are permitted to return an unlimited number of players from either the club’s Reserve/Injured List or from its Reserve/Non-Football Injury/Illness List to the club’s 53-player Active/Inactive List. Such players must have suffered a football-related injury after reporting to training camp and passing the club’s physical and must have been placed on the reserve list following 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 5. To be eligible for return, a player cannot begin to practice until three weeks have elapsed since the date he was placed on a reserve list, and the player cannot return to the Active/Inactive List until three games have elapsed since the date he was placed on Reserve/Injured.

 The Jaguars have made the following roster moves, the club announced.

  • DT Daniel Ross was activated from the team’s exempt/commissioner permission list.
  • TE Johnathan “Bug” Howard and DE Aaron Patrick were signed to the practice squad.
    • Howard was originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent in 2017 after a four-year career at the University of North Carolina. The Rochelle, Ga. native has also spent time with Cleveland, Carolina and Denver, in addition to his stints with the AAF’s Atlanta Legends and, most recently, The Spring League’s Alphas.  
    • Patrick concluded his collegiate career at Eastern Kentucky in 2019, when he was named first-team All-American by the Associated Press and Walter Camp Foundation. The Dayton, Ohio native finished his EKU career with 27.5 career sacks, second-most in school history.
  • FB Bruce Miller was restored to the team’s practice squad from the practice squad suspended list.
  • DE Reggie Gilbert was released from the active roster.
  • OL Evan Boehm and CB Trevor Williams were released from the practice squad.

Allen Park, Mich.— The Detroit Lions announced that they have signed free agent CB Tramaine Brock to the practice squad and released CB Dee Virgin from the practice squad. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.
