Miami Dolphins waive Callaway

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have waived wide receiver Antonio Callaway.

Callaway was promoted from Miami’s practice squad on Nov. 18, 2020 and played in five games with one start for the Dolphins. He totaled two receptions for 20 yards (10.0 avg.). Callaway previously spent time with Cleveland (2018-19) after originally entering the NFL as a fourth-round pick (105th overall) by the Browns in the 2018 NFL draft.

Miami Dolphins elevate Ford

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced they have elevated wide receiver Isaiah Ford to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement for Saturday’s game.

Ford has played in 17 games in his NFL career, all with Miami (2018-20). He’s totaled 44 receptions for 446 yards (10.1 avg.) and has one carry for 11 yards. Ford was traded by Miami to New England on Nov. 3, 2020 before the Patriots waived him on Dec. 5, 2020. He signed with the Dolphins’ practice squad on Dec. 14, 2020 and caught three passes for 18 yards (6.0 avg.) after being elevated last week vs. New England. Ford originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (237th overall) by Miami in the 2017 NFL draft.

JAGUARS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have made the following roster moves, the club announced.

  • Logan Cooke has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
    • The Reserve/COVID-19 list is a reserve category created by the NFL for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. Clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
  • Cameron Nizialek (pronounced NYE-zuh-lek) has been signed to the practice squad.
    • Nizialek has spent time with Baltimore and Atlanta, in addition to a stint with the AAF’s Atlanta Legends, since attending Columbia University from 2014-16 and the University of Georgia as a graduate transfer in 2017. While in Athens, the Chantilly, Va. native ranked ninth nationally with a 45.0 gross punting average.


JAGUARS RESTORE TWO PLAYERS TO THE PRACTICE SQUAD

JACKSONVILLE – WR Josh Hammond and CB Josh Nurse have been restored to the team’s practice squad from the practice squad/COVID-19 list, the club announced.

JAGUARS SIGN PUNTER DUSTIN COLQUITT

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have signed P Dustin Colquitt off of Tampa Bay’s practice squad, the club announced.

Colquitt, a 16-year NFL veteran, two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, was originally drafted by Kansas City, where he spent the first 15 seasons of his career and set multiple team records, in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He signed with Pittsburgh on Sept. 7, 2020 before joining Tampa Bay’s practice squad on Dec. 18, 2020. The Knoxville, Tenn. native attended the University of Tennessee and was a two-time member of the All-SEC First Team and a consensus First-Team All-American.

Colquitt will wear No. 1 for the Jaguars.
