Record-Setting Night for FAU Men’s Basketball

BOCA RATON – It was a record-setting night for the FAU men’s basketball team in its home-opener Thursday night at FAU Arena.

The Owls scored 85 points in the first half en route to a 128-64 victory over Florida National.

The 128 points scored were the most ever in a single-game by the Owls and also the most ever scored at The Burrow. The first-half barrage was also a school record.
FAU raced out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. Jailyn Ingram and B.J. Greenlee each tallied a 3-pointer during that opening spurt. Those were just two of the Owls’ 24 3-pointers in the contest, also an Owls record.

An Alijah Martin 3-pointer with 13 minutes left in the first half pushed the advantage to 20 points, 23-3. Another Martin triple later in the first half put FAU on top by more than 40 points and the Owls cruised from there.

Ingram reached the 20-point mark for the second consecutive game, tallying a game-high 26 points. He was 9-of-12 from the floor and 7-of-8 from 3-point range. A freshman, Martin recorded his first 20-point outing as an Owl. He hit five 3-pointers and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds off the bench. Michael Forrest also had a big night for the Owls off the bench as well. Forrest scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers.
