Primm Named to All-Conference Second Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. – (March 9, 2020) – Crystal Primm of the Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team has been named to the 2019-20 Conference USA Second Team, as announced by the league on Monday. Primm is the Owls’ first All-Conference selection since the 2017-18 season.

The graduate student has posed as a double threat all season long, sitting at sixth in the conference in points per game with 15.1 per game and eighth in rebounds with 8.1 per game. Primm leads the team in scoring, rebounding, steals (43) and free throws made (131). The guard has established her dominance on the glass, ranking third in free throws made and second in attempts (200), which is the 17th best in the NCAA.

In conference play, Primm is averaging 15.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game, which is amongst the top-7 in the league. Throughout the season, Primm has tallied nine double-doubles, including a dominant performance against Marshall, where she captured 15 points and 18 rebounds. She also logged six assists and surpassed 1,000 points on her career in her final home game on Senior Day.

The West Palm Beach, Florida native became Jim Jabir’s first C-USA Player of the Week, a feat she accomplished on Nov. 25 after a three game stretch. Primm averaged a near double-double of 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds, which included a 31-point performance vs. Little Rock and the go-ahead free throws to beat Western Michigan, 80-79. Primm has had eight 20+ point games in her career, all accomplished as an Owl.

Primm is the Owls’ first All-Conference selection since Sasha Cedeño tallied Second Team after the 2017-18 season. She is also just the fifth Owl to be selected to the All-Conference Team in the Owls’ days of belonging to C-USA.

Tenth-seeded FAU will face seventh-seeded UTEP in the opening round of the C-USA Tournament on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Tickets for the Championship are currently available here or by calling the FAU ticket office (1-866-FAU-OWLS).
