POSTGAME NOTES
DOLPHINS ADVANCE TO PLAY OFFS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2016
• The Dolphins’ win today punched their ticket to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
• It’s the first time Miami has secured a postseason berth at home since Dec. 30, 2001 when the Dolphins beat Atlanta at Hard Rock Stadium.
• This marks Miami’s 24th playoff berth all-time but just the team’s third in the past 20 years (2008, 2016).
• Miami finishes the season 9-8, its third straight year with a winning record. The last time the Dolphins had three straight seasons with winning records was 2001-03.
• It’s Miami’s seventh consecutive win vs. the Jets at Hard Rock Stadium, the longest home streak in all-time series history. The Jets haven’t won at Miami since Oct. 4, 2015.
• The Dolphins are now 11-3 in their past 14 meetings with the Jets and have a 58-56-1 edge in the all-time series (including playoffs).
• Miami is now 12-2 in its past 14 games at Hard Rock Stadum, the team’s best 14-game home stretch since also going 12-2 from Dec. 2, 2001 to Sept. 21, 2003.
• The Dolphins finish the season 6-2 at home. It’s the second straight season Miami has won at least six games at Hard Rock Stadium, something that hasn’t happened since 2001-02.
• Head Coach Mike McDaniel is the sixth head coach in Dolphins history to have a winning season in his first year and is the fifth head coach in team history to reach the playoffs in his first season.
o The others who reached the playoffs in their first seasons are Don Shula (1970), Dave Wannstedt (2000),

DEFENSE HOLD S JETS TO SIX POINTS
• Miam’s defense limited the Jets to just six points today, the fewest allowed by Miami since they held New Orleans to three points in a Monday Night Football win on Dec. 27, 2021.
• The 187 total yards allowed by Miami were also the fewest allowed since the Saints game on Dec. 27, 2021 and the second-lowest output by the Jets this season.

• K Jason Sanders scored all nine of Miami’s points today, converting all three field goal opportunities, including a 50-yarder with 18 seconds left to win the game.
• It was the seventh fourth quarter game-winning or game-tying field goal of his career and first of this season. The last time he made a kick to win a game with less than a minute remaining was on Dec. 26, 2020 at Las Vegas when he put Miami ahead, 26-25, with six seconds remaining:
