POSTGAME NOTES
DOLPHINS DEFEAT BILLS , 2 1 – 1 9
• The Dolphins are 3-0 for the first time since 2018 and the 15th time in franchise history.
• The victory is Miami’s eighth straight win at Hard Rock Stadium dating back to Nov. 7, 2021, the longest streak in stadium history.
o The eight-game home winning streak is the team’s longest since a 10-game stretch from Dec. 17, 1984 to Sept. 14, 1986.
o Hard Rock Stadium opened in 1987.
• Head Coach Mike McDaniel joins Jimmy Johnson as the only coaches in Dolphins history to win their first three games.
• This is Miami’s first win against Buffalo since Dec. 2, 2018, snapping a seven-game losing streak to the Bills.
DOLPHINS MAKE TWO DEFENSIVE STANDS IN FINAL TWO MINUTES
• Miami’s defense was on the field for 90 snaps on an 89-degree day but found a way to make plays when it mattered most, preserving Miami’s victory.
• With the Dolphins leading 21-17 and Buffalo facing a first-and-goal from the 2-yard line and 2:36 remaining, the Dolphins defense made a big four-down stop.
o LB Elandon Roberts and DT Christian Wilkins teamed up for a first-down stop of RB Devin Singletary for
only a one-yard gain.
o On second-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Roberts and LB Jerome Baker stopped QB Josh Allen for a 1-
yard loss.
 The stop by Baker was his 13th of the game. It’s the second-most tackles in a game in his career.
o CB Xavien Howard deflected a pass to WR Stefon Diggs on third-and-goal from the 2-yard line.
o On fourth down, Allen’s pass to WR Isaiah McKenzie was incomplete, and the Dolphins got the ball back
with 1:46 to play.
• Buffalo regained possession at their own 23-yard line with 1:25 to play, trailing 21-19 and needing a field goal to win.
o Miami’s defense bent but didn’t break, as the Bills moved the ball all the way to the Buffalo 47-yard line with 18 seconds remaining.
o Allen completed a pass to WR Isaiah McKenzie that gained 12 yards, but LB Melvin Ingram made a critical tackle to keep McKenzie inbounds, and Buffalo didn’t have time to run another play, preserving the victory.
• The Dolphins held Buffalo to just three offensive points in the second half. Those three points were scored at the end of a 20-play, 87-yard drive, where the Dolphins were able to keep Buffalo out of the end zone.
HOLLAND STRIP – SACK LEADS TO FIRST DOLPHINS TD
• S Jevon Holland recorded the first forced fumble of his career when he strip-sacked Buffalo QB Josh Allen on a third-and-8 snap in the first quarter. LB Melvin Ingram recovered the fumble at the Buffalo 6-yard line, setting up a short field for the Miami offense.
