Pistons GT Begins Play on Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2

DETROIT ­– The Pistons Gaming Team is set to compete in the 2020 NBA 2K League “THE TIPOFF” Tournament powered by AT&T this upcoming week. The club opens play with four consecutive games on Tuesday, June 16 beginning at 6 p.m. with two matchups each against two-time defending tournament champion 76ers GC and NetsGC in the group stage.

The first of three in-season tournaments, THE TIPOFF is a four-day tournament (Tuesday, June 16 – Friday, June 19) that consists of each team playing four games in pool play to determine the eight teams that will advance to the playoffs on June 18-19. All 23 NBA 2K League teams are split into seven groups for pool play, as Pistons GT is in Group 1 along with 76ers GC and Nets GC. Each matchup in the playoff rounds will be played in a best-of-three format.

All NBA 2K League teams will participate in the tournament remotely from their local markets for a total prize pool of $160,000. The full tournament will air live on ESPN2, ESPN’s digital platforms and the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels. In Canada, Sportsnet will broadcast games on Tuesday, June 16 from 6-9 p.m. ET. Games will also air on delay on eGG Network in Southeast Asia.

The winner of THE TIPOFF will earn nearly half of the prize pool, with the remainder awarded to the runner-up, third- and fourth-place finishers (first place – $70,000; second place – $50,000; third and fourth place – $20,000 each).
