Paul Goldschmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals named May’s National League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet; Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees named May’s American League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet

All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals has been voted the National League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for May, and All-Star outfielder Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has been named the American League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for May.

Goldschmidt earned his third career NL Player of the Month Award, most recently winning in July 2019, and is St. Louis’ third consecutive monthly award winner, following Nolan Arenado in April and Tyler O’Neill last September. The Cardinals are the first Club with three consecutive winners since the 2011-12 Texas Rangers when Adrián Beltré won in September 2011 and Josh Hamilton won both April-May 2012, and the first National

League Club since the 2006 Philadelphia Phillies with Chase Utley (July) and Ryan Howard (August-September). Addition, they are the first Club since the 1976 Detroit Tigers to have three different recipients receive Player of the Month in three consecutive months (April

– Willie Horton; May – Ron LeFlore; June – Mark Fidrych). Judge similarly claimed his third career AL Player of the Month Award, last doing so in September 2017, and is the Yankees’ first winner since his All-Star teammate DJ LeMahieu in June 2019.
