TONIGHT’S CITY FURNITURE MILITARY HERO: Sydney Levit
Tonight’s Hero Among Us is 97-year old WWII veteran, Sydney Levit. Sydney served two and a half years in the US Army which included service during the Battle of the Bulge and Operation Varsity – the airborne assault on the Rhine in 1945. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, and French Legion of Honor.

    Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov recorded two points (1-1-2) March 29 vs. MTL, his 20th multi-point game of the season. Barkov has recorded a
    point in five of his past six games (3-3-6), and produced 17 points (4-13-17) over his past 12 games. Barkov’s goal March 7 at BUF marked his ninth
    power-play goal, the second-most on Florida. He leads FLA with 29 goals and ranks second on the team with 66 points (29-37-66). Barkov’s four
    shorthanded tallies in 2021-22 are tied for the league lead.
    G-UNIT
    Claude Giroux notched an assist in his home debut with FLA on March 29 vs. MTL, his fifth assist over his first four games with the Panthers. He
    posted two assists in each of his first two games with the Panthers, becoming the second player in club history to start their tenure with consecutive
    multi-point performances following Patric Hornqvist (Jan. 17-19, 2021). Giroux notched two assists in his Panthers debut March 24 at MTL, the fifth
    Panthers skater in the past 10 years to post a multi-assist performance in their first game with the team (list includes Sam Bennett [0-2-2, April 17, 2021
    at TBL] and Jonathan Huberdeau [1-2-3, Jan. 19, 2013 vs. CAR]). He has registered a 58.8 faceoff win percentage [40/68] over his first four games
    with FLA.
    CLEAR EYES, FULL ‘HART
    Sam Reinhart notched his 200th NHL assist March 29 vs. FLA. He has produced six points (2-4-6) over his past seven games. He tallied his teamleading 10th power-play goal of the season March 24 at MTL. The tally also marked his 25th goal of the campaign, tied for his career high from 2020-21
    and 2017-18. He has produced 13 points (6-7-13) over his past 11 games. Reinhart ranks third on Florida with 39 assists and 63 points (24-39-63). He is
    three points away from surpassing his career high of 65 in 2018-19.
    THE LOMBERGHINI
    Ryan Lomberg recorded his first career multi-goal game and added an assist for a career-high 3-point (2-1-3) night March 29 vs. MTL. He has tallied
    three goals over his past two games and five points (4-1-5) over his past five outings. Lomberg leads FLA forwards with 107 hits this season.
    YOU’RE ON THE CASE, BOBROVSKY
    Sergei Bobrovsky earned his 32nd win (32-6-3) of the season March 29 vs. MTL. He has won each of his past six starts, his third six-game winning
    streak this season. Only Roberto Luongo (9-game win streak from Dec. 15, 2015-Jan. 7, 2016) has had a longer win streak in club history. Bobrovsky is
    three wins away from matching Luongo’s club record for wins in a season (35 in 2005-06 and 2015-16). He ranks third among NHL goaltenders with 20
    home wins (20-3-0), posting wins in each of his past four home starts.
    THE DUKE OF SOUTH FLORIDA
    Anthony Duclair has registered four points (2-2-4) over his past six games. He scored his career-high 26th goal of the campaign March 26 at OTT, the
    second-most on FLA this season. He scored a PPG in four consecutive games from March 5-10, matching a club record for longest streak of games with
    a PPG (Evgenii Dadonov, 4 games from Nov. 28-Dec. 4, 2018). His 49 points (26-23-49) this season are are also a career high, while he is two assists
    away from setting a new career mark. His 4-game goal streak (4-1-5) from March 5-10 was his longest of the season and tied for the longest by a
    Panthers skater in 2021-22.
    BENNY AND THE CATS
    Sam Bennett logged three points (1-2-3) March 29 vs. MTL), including his 99th career NHL goal. Bennett has logged four points (1-3-4) over his past
    two games. His 41 points (26-15-41) and 26 goals this season are career highs. 21 of his goals have come at even strength, tied for the most on FLA.
    He leads Florida with 188 shots on goal in 2021-22, and paces the club with six game-winning goals this season.
    BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH
    Mason Marchment scored his 15th goal of the season March 29 vs. MTL. He has posted a point in three of his past five games (2-1-3). Marchment has
    produced 37 points (15-22-37) and 88 hits over 41 games in 2021-22.
    AGENT CARTER
    Carter Verhaeghe notched his 28th assist of the season march 29 vs. MTL for his 98th NHL point. He has logged three points (1-2-3) over his past six
    games. He has logged nine points (5-4-9) over his past 12 contests. Verhaeghe’s 21 goals, 28 assists and 49 points this season are all career highs. All
    21 of his goals have come at even strength, tied for the most on the Panthers in 2021-22. He ranks second on FLA with 46 even-strength points (21-25-

    OH WHAT A KNIGHT
    Spencer Knight started five consecutive road contests for Florida from March 13-24. Over those five contests, he posted a 3-1-1 record, .923 save
    percentage and 2.17 goals against average. The Darien, Conn., native registered his first NHL shutout March 18 at ANA, stopping all 17 Ducks shots. At
    20 years, 333 days, Knight was the youngest goaltender to earn their first NHL shutout in Panthers history.

    MacKenzie Weegar led Florida with 24:06 time on ice March 29 vs. MTL. He paces Florida with 136 blocked shots, and ranks third among all skaters
    with 67 takeaways. His six goals this season match his total from 2020-21, and are one shy of his career high. His 35 points (6-29-35) are one shy of his
    career high from last season
