TONIGHT’S CITY FURNITURE MILITARY HERO: Michael and Timothy Harris
Tonight’s Heroes Among Us are US Marine Corps Veterans Michael and Timothy Harris. Michael and Timothy both served from 1985-89. Michael spent one year overseas in Japan and Korea as a part of the motor transport battalion. Timothy served in the Mediterranean in the area of infantry. The Harris family has had at least one member of their family serving in the military over the last three generations from WWII to present.

    HOME SWEET HOME
    Tonight the Panthers play their second game in a five-game homestand. Florida’s loss to Nashville ended their nine-game home winning streak, the
    second-longest in club history behind their 11-game home win streak to start the 2021-22 season. The Cats own a league-best 23-4-0 record at FLA
    Live Arena, with wins in 12 of their past 15 games on home ice (12-3-0). Florida paces all NHL teams in goals (127), even-strength goals (90), goals per
    game (4.70), and shots per game (39.4) at home.
    SPREADING THE LOVE
    Nine different Panthers have tallied at least 11 goals, eight have produced at least 20 assists, and nine have recorded at least 31 points. The Cats pace
    all teams in scoring by forwards (180-245-425) and rank second in scoring by defensemen (30-114-144). Four different Panthers defensemen have
    logged at least 20 points, tied for the most among NHL teams.

    HEART AND GOAL
    The Panthers four-goal outing Feb. 22 vs. NSH marked their 31st game this season with at least four goals scored. They have also scored at least five
    goals in 22 different games, and six goals in nine separate contests. The Cats lead all teams in goals (210) and five-on-five goals (146), averaging a
    league-leading a 4.12 goals per game. Florida is the only NHL club averaging over four tallies per game.
    DROP IT LIKE IT’S SHOT
    The Panthers logged 48 shots on goal Feb. 22 vs. NSH, their sixth game this season with at least 48 SOG. Prior to 2021-22, Florida had logged at least
    48 shots on goal in a game a total of 25 times in club history. The Panthers currently lead all clubs with 36.5 shots per game.
    CATS AND BLUE JACKETS
    Tonight, the Panthers and Blue Jackets face off for the third time this season. The Panthers won the prior two matchups by a combined score of 17-6. In
    CBJ’s last visit to FLA Live Arena on Jan. 15, the Cats earned a 9-2 victory, tying the club record for goals scored in one game led by a four-point (1-3-4)
    performance from MacKenzie Weegar. Florida defeated Columbus 8-4 on Jan. 15, in a game where Mason Marchment (2-4-6) tied a club record for
    most points in one game and Anton Lundell (0-5-5) tied a club record for most assists in one game, and established a franchise mark for single-game
    points by a rookie.
    HUBY SNACKS
    Jonathan Huberdeau notched two assists for the 4th consecutive game Feb. 22 vs. NSH, extending his assist/point streak to eight games. He joined
    Pavel Bure (1999-00) as the only Panthers skaters to record multiple eight-game point streaks in the same season, and is the only NHL skater to do so
    this season. Huberdeau’s eight-game assist streak is also his second of the season and matches the club record for longest assist streak in one season.
    He is one of two NHLers with a four-game multi-assist streak in 2021-22 (N. Kadri). Huberdeau is the only skater averaging over one assist per game
    with at least 40 games played, and he has produced at least one point in all but nine of Florida’s games in 2021-22. Huberdeau leads Florida with 17
    multi-point games this season. The native of Saint-Jerome, Quebec is the only NHLer in 2021-22 to record two games with at least five points.
    BARKOV COUNTY
    Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov matched his season high with three points (1-2-3) Feb. 20 at CHI, including tallying his team-leading 23rd goal of
    the campaign. Barkov is tied for the club lead with six power-play goals and four shorthanded tallies. His 4 SHGs are tied for the league lead. His
    SHG Jan. 29 vs. VGK represented his 200th NHL goal and 500th NHL point. He is expected to skate in his 568thth NHL game tonight, surpassing
    Robert Svehla for sixth-most games played in franchise history.
    EK’S GON’ GIVE IT TO YA
    Aaron Ekblad scored a goal for the fourth consecutive game Feb. 22 vs. NSH, tying Jay Bouwmeester (4GP in 2008-09) for longest goal streak by a
    defenseman in club history. Ekblad is currently on a six-game point streak (4-5-9), one game shy of the longest by a defenseman in franchise history. He
    leads Florida d-men with 11 goals scored on home ice. Ekblad was named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 20 after
    producing three straight games with a goal and an assist. His career-high 48 points (14-34-48) lead FLA defensemen and are tied for fourth among
    league blueliners, while his 14 tallies sit tied for second-most among NHL d-men. He has registered 14 multi-point games, the second-most on Florida.
    His +35 rating this season sits second among league defensemen.
    HOME IS WHERE THE ‘HART IS
    Sam Reinhart posted his 13th multi-point outing (1-1-2) of the season Feb. 22 vs. NSH. He extended his point streak to seven games (6-6-12), the
    second-longest point streak by a Panthers skater this season. His goal against NSH marked his sixth PPG of the campaign, tied with Aleksander
    Barkov for most on Florida. Reinhart has produced 25 points (9-16-25) over 17 games since Jan. 1. Reinhart has produced 49 points (18-31-49) over 48
    GP in 2021-22, one of four Panthers at a point-per-game pace or better. He ranks second on the team in points and third in assists. He matched his
    career high with four points (3-1-4) Jan. 31, tallying his fifth career hat trick. Reinhart’s 13 power-play points this season rank third on Florida.
    MARCH MADNESS
    Mason Marchment notched an assist Feb. 20 at CHI and has produced four points (3-1-4) over his past three games following his first NHL hat trick (3-
    0-3) Feb. 18 at MIN. He has produced 27 points (11-16-27) over 26 games in 2021-22, including nine goals and 16 points (9-7-16) over his past nine
    contests. Marchment was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 6 after posting six points (2-4-6) Jan. 31 at CBJ, matching
    the club record for points in a game.
    BENNY AND THE CATS
    Sam Bennett scored his 22nd goal of the season Feb. 22 vs. NSH and led the team with 7 SOG and 7 hits. Bennett has logged 17 points (13-4-17) over
    his past 17 games (since Dec. 29). His 22 goals (22-9-31) this season are a career high and rank second on Florida. Bennett tallied his second career
    overtime goal Jan. 29 vs. SJS, marking his team-leading 6th GWG of the season.
    FINNISH PHENOM
    Anton Lundell tallied his 11th goal of the season Feb. 20 at CHI. His 35 points (10-24-34) sit tied for third among league rookies this season, and his
    +31 rating ranks fourth among all NHL forwards. His 35 points are also the seventh-most by a FLA rookie in club history. Lundell notched five assists
    Jan. 31 at CBJ, matching the club record for most assists in one game. His five-point outing also set a franchise record for points in one game by a
    rookie.
    THE BUTCHER
    Radko Gudas scored his first goal of the season Feb. 22 vs. NSH. He leads all NHL skaters with 218 hits this season, the only skater with over 200 hits.
    RETURN OF THE MACK
    MacKenzie Weegar logged an assist Feb. 22 vs. NSH to extend his point streak to four games (1-3-4), tied for his longest point streak of the campaign.
    Weegar ranks second among FLA blueliners in goals, assists and points (5-26-31), paces the club with 102 blocked shots, and ranks second among all
    skaters with 60 takeaways.
    THE DUKE OF SOUTH FLORIDA
    Anthony Duclair scored his 20th goal of the season and added an assist Feb. 18 at MIN, becoming the third Panthers skater to reach 20 goals in 2021-
  1. His 20 tallies (20-18-38) rank third on Florida. 17 of his 20 goals have come at even strength, tied for the most on Florida this season. Duclair has
    amassed 13 points (6-7-13) over his past 15 contests. The native of Point-Claire, QC has logged 70 points (30-40-70) over 86 career games with
    Florida.
    AGENT CARTER
    Carter Verhaeghe notched his career-high 23rd assist assist Feb. 20 at CHI. He tallied his 16th goal of the season Feb. 18 at MIN. All 16 of his goals
    have come at even strength, the third-most on the Panthers in 2021-22. He ranks second on FLA with 36 even-strength points (16-20-36) this season.
    YOU’RE ON THE CASE, BOBROVSKY
    Sergei Bobrovsky has posted two separate six-game win streaks this season (Oct. 14-Oct. 29, Jan. 25-Feb. 20). His seven-game home win streak
