  • Panthers regular season points leader Jonathan Huberdeau (23-55-78) put the Cats on the board with a goal 0:22 into the third period. His goal surpassed Stephen Weiss’ franchise playoff record for fastest goal scored to open a period (0:23 – 1st period, April 15, 2012 vs. New Jersey). 
  • Assists on Huberdeau’s goal were recorded by Aleksander Barkov and MacKenzie Weegar.
  • The Panthers surrendered the first goal of the game at 12:00 of the first period (Jean-Gabriel Pageau). The Islanders tallied their second goal of the game on the power-play (Anthony Beauvillier) at 3:39 of the second period. 
  • Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 26 saves in the game. Bobrovsky stopped 10 out of 11 Islanders shots on goal in the first period, 6 of 7 in the second period and all 10 faced in the game’s third period.
  • The Panthers had five players make their NHL postseason debuts: Evgenii DadonovMark PysykRiley StillmanDominic Toninato and MacKenzie Weegar.
  • On the penalty kill, Florida finished the game 2/3. In the first period, Florida’s PK stopped two Islanders power-play opportunities including a 4-on-3 power play for the Islanders. 
  • Despite not registering their first shot of the game until 9:22 of the first period, the Panthers posted nine shots in the contest’s first frame. By the conclusion of the game the two clubs tied in shots 28-28. The Cats out-shot the Islanders 14-7 in the second period.
  • Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad led the club with a game-high 25:24 of ice time. He led the Cats with four shots on goal in the game.
  • Florida outhit the Islanders 32-30, led by Captain Aleksander Barkov with four hits. Including Barkov, the Panthers had five players log at least three hits (Noel AcciariEvgenii DadonovAaron EkbladDominic Toninato). Florida’s 32 hits matched their season high for hits in a game (Feb. 8 vs. PIT).
  • The Panthers regular season leader in blocked shots (103), forward Noel Acciari led the Panthers with four blocked shots and finished 67% in the faceoff circle (8/12).
  • Panthers defenseman Anton Stralman played in his 105th career playoff game on his 34th birthday.
