PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES – APRIL 1, 2021

Head Coach Joel Quenneville

“It’s been a very important stretch here for us. I liked how we competed in the games, we’re sticking with it. Games have been close for the most part. Tonight coming back in the third period, it was a hard game.”

“Frankie [forward Frank Vatrano] generally has jump, his pace has been very noticeable. I thought he had an excellent game last game and today he had good speed as well.”

“We had to work for what we got tonight, but I still think defensively we were pretty good as well.”

Forward Alex Wennberg

“Every game we have is really important…You’ve got to keep the same mindset for every team you’re playing against. Detroit is a really good team, they showed they have a lot of speed. For us, we’ve just got to stay focused.”

“We have a strong [team] character that it doesn’t matter who we’re playing against or what the score is, you just keep going, and we got rewarded.”

“That’s four really good games from us, and there’s no stopping us right now.”

Forward Frank Vatrano

“It’s good to help the team out, and everyone stepped up tonight.”

“It shows how deep our team is, we can play all four lines, our defense has done a great job and our goalie tandem’s been great this year too. The guys we’ve lost, those are guys you can’t really replace. We’ve got to try to do our job as best as possible every night regardless of who’s playing.”

Goaltender Chris Driedger

“These are big wins for us, we have a lot of key pieces out. I think it says a lot about our team that we’re a hard-working group and nothing gets us down.”

“We have a good dynamic here. The schedule is extremely packed, it’s nice to be able to take some pressure off of Bob [goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky] and we have a good 1-2 punch here.”
