PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES – MARCH 20, 2021

Head Coach Joel Quenneville

“I thought both teams’ goalies today were really good. I liked how we played, I liked how we battled.”

“I thought our power play was outstanding for not having production. There’s good things, some positive things and sticking with it, being patient in a tight game, don’t get ahead of yourself.”

“I think that we’re pleased with our first part of the year, we expect the second half to be more competitive in the games, everybody’s familiar with one another within the division. There’s going to be tough games going forward as well. We just want to keep pushing ahead.”

Forward Patric Hornqvist

“(Playing in his 800th game) means a lot. I’ve been in the league for a long time and hopefully I’ve got a lot of years left in me. I still love the game.”

“I liked our effort tonight. It wasn’t the prettiest game from both sides, but we competed, we were on the right side of pucks and we won all of the 50/50s. If you do that over and over, it will show in the standings. We’re a really good team.”

“Both goalies were great, I think those were the two best players on the ice…Driegs [goaltender Chris Driedger] was calm back there and made the saves when we needed them.”

Goaltender Chris Driedger

“We played a phenomenal game. It’s a tough game. Having not played for a little bit, it’s just nice to get back and have a solid effort in front of me. I was just trying to stay sharp and keep the puck out of the net.”

“Hats off to (NSH goaltender Juuse) Saros, who played a heck of a game himself…When the other goalie is putting on a show it can get a little dicey, you to make sure that you’re sharp.”

“There’s just a buzz in the room this year. We’re feeling good…there’s always a belief that we can come from behind and get the job done. In a game like tonight, we didn’t really give them anything. I felt like my job was pretty straightforward.”
