PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES – FEB. 19, 2021

Head Coach Joel Quenneville

“Really good start, a lot of speed, did some good things with the puck, made some nice plays. When you score early like that and get some momentum right off the bat it’s what you look for on the road.”

“It was a good night offensively, I liked our balance. I thought all lines were effective. Everybody was doing what we’re looking to do both ways with the puck. Penalty killing was good, power play was effective, so we’re happy with our game.”

Goaltender Chris Driedger

“I feel great. Playing a few in a row gets you going a little bit, gets you into a bit of a rhythm. The guys are playing incredible. Playing those games and getting those wins is the most important thing.”

“When those guys get the puck moving, it’s something special to watch.”

Forward Patric Hornqvist

“Our first period was really good, we were hard on pucks, close support, and our D [defensemen] did a good job gapping up too. We were all over them in the first period and we got rewarded, and in the second and third period we kept going. We were on top of them all night, it felt good out there.”

“We feel good about ourselves but we just can’t sit back now because we’ve been winning here lately. We just have to keep working and keep doing the right things, you see what that does to our team.”

“When we’re playing the right way, we’re as good as anyone and that’s what we’ve showed right now. Big test tomorrow here again.”

Forward Anthony Duclair

“We wanted to keep things simple, respect our opponents. They’ve been playing well lately, we wanted to make sure that we got off to a good start. We did just that.”

“No lead is safe in this league. They’ve got some guys that can put the puck in the back of the net so we didn’t let off, it was good to see for sure.”

“We’re looking for them to respond tomorrow. For us it’s going to be the same mentality, we’re a confident group right now and we just want to keep things going.”
