PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Sam Reinhart

On Florida’s pace during the game:

“We felt comfortable. We felt it was our best 60 in a while.  You’ve got to give credit to them, they’re comfortable in those games, too, they win a lot of them. It’s not really a shocker it went down to the wire in a shootout. It could obviously go either way, but we’ve got another big test against them in a couple of days, so I expect both teams to be ready for that one.”

On Florida’s depth:

“We feel that we’re at our best when we come in waves. We all want to play the same sort of game. I think guys are starting to feel comfortable in that and find their roles. It’s a fun way to play when you’ve got that many guys that can contribute.”

Forward Maxim Mamin

On his first career two-goal game:

“I’m feeling better game to game. If you are playing more [more ice time], you start to feel more confident. It’s helped me. I feel good now.”

On learning from his teammates:

“It has helped me, guys always talk to me if I don’t understand something, they tell me what to do and it really helps me.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On 51 SOG and the shootout win:

“Yeah, I mean, they stayed with the game plan. I thought we played a strong game, regardless of the result in that one. Our attention to detail was pretty good. We had the puck all game, it felt like. We did a lot of the things we wanted to do so regardless of the result, I felt good with the way we were playing.”

On this Florida Panthers team and their puck possession:

“Obviously, those are fun teams to be around, fun teams to play on. I wish I was still playing—it’s fun to watch them, fun to coach them. [It’s] our effort and resilience. We’ve been so strong on pucks and when we don’t have it we get it back as soon as possible, and that’s been a pretty good trait of our team here so far this year.”

On Florida’s depth and skill:

“Well, I’m extremely lucky to have a group like this. They’re fun to be around; they’re fun to watch, night-in and night-out. We’re blessed with them. Every guy every night’s stepping up. And that’s fun to be a part of.”
