PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Anthony Duclair

On his chemistry with Bennett and Huberdeau:

Yeah, we were pumped when we got back together. We were excited. We found a little chemistry when Bennett got traded here last year and it was nice to see. We saw a little bit tonight, but we just want to build off that and you’ve just got to communicate a little bit more to try to find each other. With Huby, his skill and his IQ level, you know, it’s pretty easy to find open space.

On playing on home ice:

Yeah, we put an emphasis on playing well at home, our fans have been unbelievable this year and the love and support has been great. We want to put in an honest effort every time we play here and keep the streak going.

Goaltender Spencer Knight

On His performance tonight:

For me, there are some of the things I do in practice. I know what I’m capable of and I know I can play…You come to the rink and just react, it’s a reacting position. You can’t really control what goes on so just react and just go with the flow.

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On tonight’s win:

“I thought Spencer was unbelievable. We got our legs going and I think the [first] goal was huge, obviously, but you know I felt let’s get out of the first [period] and we’ll take back control of the game here as we go.”

On Florida’s 9-0-0 home-ice start:

“We’re building it, you know. We want it to be our house and we want when teams come in that they know it’s going to be a hard game and we’re going to compete, we’re going to be on pucks, and we’re going to play fast. Probably didn’t dictate the way we wanted in the first ten minutes, but I thought we took over the game.”
