PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Patric Hornqvist

On tonight’s six-goal win:

“It’s nice to get the lead and get some confidence back and, you know, believe in what we do good out there. We can see, when we get pucks deep under the goal line, when we get pucks back and we create our cycles—you know, it’s hard to stop us that way. [We’ll] build this for this week here and keep going.”

Forward Carter Verhaeghe

On Sergei Bobrovsky’s performance:

“He has been unbelievable, he keeps us in every game, he makes huge saves at the right time and I am happy we got up 4-0 in the first. I think we played a little tighter tonight and we do it for Bob. He deserves it and has been one of the goalies in the league, it’s awesome.”

On Florida’s team chemistry:

“Our team is so tight, and we have so many good players on the team and so much depth so whoever you are playing with, you’re playing with a great player and sometimes we switch them up and things happen like they did tonight, so it was good, and I am happy to play with anyone on the team.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On tonight’s win:

“I really liked our compete, I liked it the whole time. They compete really hard as a group. They’re fun to be around because they’re nonstop—they compete, compete, compete.”

On Florida’s performance at home:

“I think we felt good on home ice. We wanted to dictate right from the start. We didn’t want to use our weight in our game. We knew there was a desperate team that was coming on the end of a thirteen [game] road trip and they lost the night before, they wanted to get a win to head back. We knew they’d be desperate early, they’re a good first period team, and I thought we took control of the game and played with pace.”

On Ryan Lomberg’s goal:

“Yeah, their line had some big shifts for us. They were doing the right things—they did the same thing in Tampa—and they got rewarded for it tonight. I love watching Lomby score. it kind of makes my day. It was a huge goal, and that line really the last two games has played exceptional for us.”
