Owls Work Around Hurricane Ian

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University was closed on Wednesday due to Hurricane Ian. But the Owls (2-3, 1-0 C-USA) continued to monitor the weather and adjust preparation for this week’s contest at the University of North Texas (2-3, 1-0 C-USA).

Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. eastern. Fans can watch the game on ESPN+ or tune in via Fox Sports 640 AM South Florida for the call.

FAU defense will be one of the keys to the team’s success. Expect the Owls to be led by linebacker Eddie Williams, who is ranked No. 14 nationally with 52 tackles or 10.4 per game. Williams is supported by safety Dwight Toombs, who is No. 9 in interceptions with two. Four players: Michal Antoine, Austin EvansJacob Merrifield and “Smoke” Romain Mungin, are listed as No. 16 in fumble recoveries.

The show will also feature wide receiver Je’Quan Burton in “Pads Off” and the “Where Are They Now” segment, will feature former Owl safety Sharrod Neasman. Left tackle and grad transfer Brendan Bordner and his grandmother, will be showcased in the final segment. Gale Bordner was the Owls’ first swim coach in 1985. The show will air on Thursday and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. on Bally Sports Florida.
