Owls Topped by Air Force

USAFA, Colo. – The Florida Atlantic University football team fell on the road to Air Force in Saturday’s matchup at Falcon Stadium.
QuotableHead coach Willie Taggart:
“We didn’t play with the same physicality that (Air Force) played with, and when you don’t do that against an option team, you’re going to struggle. I thought physically they beat us in the trenches in this ballgame.”
The Beginning / The Turning PointAir Force (3-1) scored the first three touchdowns of the game, but later in the second, the Owls’ (2-2) defense held the Falcons to a field goal. A four-play drive put FAU into the end zone, starting with a 32-yard rush by Johnny Ford and ending on a 34-yard TD by N’Kosi Perry. For each, that marked the longest rush in their young FAU careers. That ended the first half scoring, as AF missed a field goal with one second left on the clock.
The FinishAn elongated Falcons’ drive, both time- and yardage-wise, extended the lead in the third. That would be the final score of the game on either side.
