Owls to Face Skyhawks Saturday Night

MARTIN, Tenn. – On Saturday night, the Florida Atlantic University women’s soccer team will wrap up its two-game Tennessee swing at UT Martin. First touch at Skyhawk Soccer Field is set from 7 p.m. eastern time.

ABOUT THE OWLS

• FAU is looking to bounce back after a three-nil defeat at the hands of Memphis on Thursday night. The Owls are also looking to snap a two-game losing streak
• The Owls have had success generating scoring opportunities with an 80-56 shot edge in total this season, but it has only translated to a 9-6 goal deficit
• FAU has out-shot its opponent in five out of the seven games this season
• Defensively the Owls have been strong this season, with only nine goals surrendered in seven games, which translates to a 1.29 goals against average to rank third in Conference USA
• Leading the defensive back line has been Amanda Martin, who has logged 586 out of a possible 630 minutes
• Gi Krstec has also been a workhorse at midfield for FAU, with 567 minutes played to rank second on the team behind Martin. Krstec netted the game-winner against South Florida with less than two minutes to play
• Jodi Smith, Hailey Landrus and Luisa Daikeler have all played stout defense as well for FAU’s back line. Smith ranks third on the squad in minutes with 523, while Landrus sits in fifth behind midfielder Emmy Schleifer with 501 minutes on the pitch

• These two teams have met only one time before, which came in 2001
• The Owls defeated the Skyhawks by a final score of 7-1 behind an offensive flurry
• The seven goals scored is tied for seventh-most in a single game in FAU history
• The 19 points that day also ties for 10th-most in a single game in school history
