BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team will welcome St. Thomas to FAU Arena for an exhibition matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 1 for a 7 p.m. tip-off. The game will be free admission, however there will not be a live stream of the game, but live stats will be available. The Owls return four of their top six scorers from the 2021-22 season and bring back seven total returners. FAU also adds seven newcomers, which includes three NCAA DI transfers from Fairleigh Dickinson, Kansas State, and Rutgers, as well as four true freshmen. FAU returns a ton of the team’s production from a year ago, bringing back 97 percent of the team’s blocks, 67 percent of the team’s scoring, 65 percent of the team’s rebounds and steals, and 63 percent of the team’s minutes from the 2021-22 campaign. Scouting St. Thomas The Bobcats are just coming off their season-opening win against the University of the Virgin Islands. The 2021-22 season saw St. Thomas finish 11-16 and 7-9 in Sun Conference play.Marta Franco led the Bobcats in their season-opening win with 20 points, while Kasey Gagan also scored in double-digits with 10 points in the contest. Franco also dished out a team-leading six assists. Mya Victor led St. Thomas defensively, collecting 14 rebounds and picking up a team-high five blocks, while Franco pulled down a team second-best eight boards. Brooke Bogatz leads the team in steals with six. Series History FAU holds the all-time advantage over St. Thomas in regular season contests, 3-0, and 2-0 in Boca Raton. The two programs last met during the regular season in 1993, with the Owls defeating the Bobcats 103-70 in Boca Raton.
