Owls Continue Northern Swing

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University’s men’s tennis team stays on the road with two matches remaining in Virginia. The Owls will first play at Old Dominion on Friday, March 25 at 1 p.m. and will then play at Liberty on Saturday, March 26 at 1 p.m.

The Owls, ranked No. 60 in the latest ITA poll, will put that ranking to its first test against No. 56 ODU then versus No. 71 Liberty. Five Owls are riding a winning streak despite a hard-fought match at UNC-Wilimington on Wednesday.

FAU will be led by three players who have tallied double-digit wins. Alvaro Fernandez Horta will take an 11-2 dual match record into the matches while both Kevin Huempfner and Finn Stodder will enter the contest with records of 10-2. The doubles unit continues to be led by Carles Sarrio and Hunter Robbins, who were ranked No. 79 in the latest poll, and enter the weekend with a record of 9-3.
HISTORICALThis will be the 10th time the Owls have faced ODU with the Monarchs holding the all-time mark at 6-3. They last met on April 24, 2021 at the C-USA Championship where FAU fell 4-1. The all-time series is tied at 1-1 between FAU and Liberty. They last met last March with Liberty taking the match 5-1.
