BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University baseball team looks to make it three straight wins when they welcome FIU to town on Friday night. The Owls enter the weekend tied for the fourth in C-USA with 12 games to go.

OWLS IN REVIEW
The Owls are coming off a 6-4 win on Tuesday over Florida Gulf Coast. Max Martzolf picked up the win with 4.2 innings of relief work. He struck out 11 batters and didn’t allow a hit to preserve the two-run victory.
Last weekend, the Owls dropped two of three to Old Dominion. The Monarchs hit 11 home runs in the series. FAU was saved on Sunday by a strong start from Tyler Burnham, a three-hit day from Dylan Goldstein, and a three-inning save from Robert Wegielnik.

THE OWLS’ OPPONENT
FIU started the season 6-0 but has since gone just 6-26. The Panthers did earn a non-conference win over Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday to snap a six-game slide. Their four C-USA wins this season have come against Marshall, Old Dominion, and WKU. Redshirt junior Alec Sanchez leads FIU with nine home runs and 32 RBI. His 41 hits are also a team high.
