Brok, Morris Tabbed AVCA First Team All-Americans

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Erica Brok and Mackenzie Morris of the Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball team continue to compile more postseason accolades, as the pair was named AVCA First Team All-America selections, as announced Thursday. This marks the second consecutive year the pair has been chosen as First Team All-Americans.

Brok/Morris were just announced as the Conference USA Pair of the Year, as well as one of five pairs picked to the C-USA First Team on Wednesday. The winningest pair in FAU history has posted a 22-6 overall record this season, all on court one, and are approaching the century mark with a 93-29 career record as a pair. Brok/Morris are a two-time C-USA Pair of the Week selection and have achieved an 8-0 mark against C-USA opponents this season. The pair has a 78% winning percentage and has achieved their second 20-win season as a duo.

The pair opened up the season with a thrilling three-set win over No. 3 Florida State (20-22, 21-19, 28-26). The pair then dominated at the competitive March to May Tournament, finishing 4-1 while knocking off three opponents inside the top 15 that weekend. The highlight of the tournament came in their victory over No. 5 LSU, which clinched the dual match for FAU and handed undefeated LSU their first loss of the season. Brok/Morris is currently riding on a nine-match winning streak.

The AVCA All-American list is composed of a first and second team with 16 members in each, 32 players total. The awards selections were made by the AVCA Collegiate Beach All-America Committee: Beth Van Fleet of Georgia State (chair), Andrew Fuller of Stanford, Hector Gutierrez of TCU, Kristen Rohr of Grand Canyon and Darin Van Horn of Chattanooga.

FAU is set to face No. 4-seeded UAB at 2:30 p.m. ET today on the first day of the C-USA Championship at the John Hunt Beach Volleyball Courts in Huntsville, Alabama.
