O’Cyrus Torrence Earns FWAA All-America Team Honors
Torrence named to FWAA Second-Team Offense for third honor of the week

DALLAS, Texas – Florida’s offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence added to his accolades Friday afternoon, being named to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Second Team Offense All-America team, the FWAA in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic announced. There are 19 schools represented from six Football Bowl Subdivision conferences on the first team and 34 different schools and eight conferences plus an Independent included on the overall 54-man team.

“Partnering with the Cotton Bowl Classic each year to name this team and honor these standouts is always special. Making these teams is an honor that will stick with players long after they leave their campuses,” said FWAA President David Ubben of The Athletic. “It’s always difficult to narrow down the team but it’s also a sign of strength in the sport when there are so many deserving candidates at so many positions. College football’s on-field product is in great shape.”

Torrence, a native of Greensburg, La., started in eleven games this season, allowing zero sacks while not committing a penalty not only during his lone season with the Gators, but over his career. He is the highest graded guard in the country according to Pro Football Focus with an 88.2 grade.

Playing right guard, Torrence anchored an offensive line that has allowed only 13 sacks this season, which is second-least in the SEC and tied for 15th in the nation. Florida’s 5.8 yards per carry and 213.7 rushing yards per game are amongst the best in program history.

On Tuesday, Torrence was selected to the All-SEC First Team before being tabbed to the Walter Camp All-America First Team Thursday night.
