Oakland Park to have a ground breaking ceremony
From David Volz

Oakland Park will have another groundbreaking ceremony as the City continues to build for its second century. There will be groundbreaking ceremony on the new Fire Station 9 on Friday, January 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at 599 Park Lane/N.E. 38th Street. Refreshments will follow the ceremony. This project will provide Oakland Park with a new, modern Fire Rescue facility that will enhance public safety. Fire Station 9 is one of several bond projects under the Comprehensive Facilities Plan, part of the City’s Building Our 2nd Century initiative. The first new bond project, Phase I of City Park, opened in October 2022. The City of Oakland Park is updating its Comprehensive Plan, a tool that outlines goals and helps guide future development. City leaders want to hear from residents and businesses on topics including public schools, conservation, recreation and open space, transportation, coastal management, and property rights. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 25th, at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom to give input and learn more.
