Oakland Park has a new dog park

The City of Oakland Park has opened a new dog park at 600 NE 38th Street. Residents are encouraged to bring their dogs to the park so they can have fun and make new friends.

Oakland Park as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This free community event will take place at the Collins Community Center at 3900 NE 3rd Avenue and will include bounce houses, food trucks, and activities for the whole family including live performances by Levi Knowles, the Broward College Jazz Band, and more.

Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in the annual Mayors’ Chess Challenge. There will be friendly chess meetups on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the new North Andrews Gardens Community Center, located at 250 NE 56th Court in Oakland Park. The Mayor’s Chess Challenge is an opportunity to learn chess, meet local elected officials, and connect with the community.
