Northern Broward cities agree to work together to dispose of various materials

The cities of Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Tamarac, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, North Lauderdale, and Lauderdale Lakes have established a cooperative agreement that will allow city residents several opportunities to dispose of the full range of materials at special one-day events throughout the year. 
 
Items accepted for collection include paint, electronics, bulbs, antifreeze (small cans), auto batteries, motor oil, pool chemicals, pesticides, and other household hazardous waste. Prohibited items include tires, gasoline, ammunition, smoke detectors, aerial flares, medications, needles, freon, and other industrial compressed gases.
 
The Coral Springs Special HHW Collection days will take place at Westside Complex, 4181 NW 121 Ave, Coral Springs on the following dates:

  • Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • May 6, 2023: Tamarac (6011 Nob Hill Road)
  • May 27, 2023: Pompano Beach (1660 NE 10th Street)
  • August 12, 2023: Coconut Creek (4800 W. Copans Road)
  • August 26, 2023: North Lauderdale (701 SW 71st Ave)
  • October 28, 2023: Pompano Beach (1660 NE 10th Street)
  • November 11, 2023: Fort Lauderdale (2201 NW 9th Ave)
  • December 2, 2023: Tamarac (6011 Nob Hill Road) 

Coral Springs residents may drop off bulk trash & yard waste every weekend at the Waste Transfer Station (12600 Wiles Road) during normal operating hours. On the first Saturday and Sunday of the month residents may drop off paint, fluorescent light bulbs, and electronic equipment.
