BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 7th-ranked Lynn University women’s tennis team continued their dominance on the court with a 7-0 win over Sunshine State Conference foe, 41st-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

·         The Blue and White won all three doubles matches to secure the point.

·         Leolia Jeanjean and Natalia Siedliska took the top flight, 6-1 to defeat PBA’s only nationally ranked pair (No. 24). Eliska Petrackova and Federica Mordegan recorded the win at No. 2 doubles, 6-2.

·         Anastacia Parkin and Ulyana Grib got the victory at No. 3 doubles 6-4 after being down 4-2 in the match.

·         Grib was the first to finish singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 win over her opponent at No. 2 singles. 

·         60th-ranked Jeanjean continued her success at the top position taking a 6-2, 6-0 victory.

·         51st-ranked Mordegan clinched the victory for the Blue and White with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot.

·         Petrackova and Liga both finished with identical 6-0, 6-1 triumphs at the fourth and fifth flights, respectively.

·         Georgia Pigato completed play for the Blue and White with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

·         Lynn improves to 15-0 all-time against Palm Beach Atlantic. The Sailfish are one of six SSC teams who have yet to beat the Fighting Knights in program history (Eckerd, Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, Florida Tech and Tampa).

·         The Fighting Knights are now 30-1 in doubles play this season. They have had four matches unfished, but were leading in all four when the match was stopped.

·         Jeanjean, who is 10-0 in singles this season, has yet to lose more than three total games in a singles match.

·         Pigato saw action in her sixth match this season. She improved to 3-1 with two unfinished matches.

·         The Fighting Knights are 58-3 in singles matches this season.

·         The Blue and White came into the match ranked No. 7 in the Oracle/ITA rankings; the Sailfish are ranked 41st.

The Fighting Knights are back in action tomorrow, March 24, at 10 a.m. when they host No. 11 Academy of Art University at the Perper Tennis Complex.
