LEXINGTON, Ky- The UAB men’s soccer team kept No. 4 Kentucky off of the board for the first half of the game but came up short in a 2-0 loss on Saturday night in Lexington.
UAB (1-6-0) faced 20 shots from Kentucky (5-1-0), six of which were on goal. The Blazers tallied four shots in the match, two were on goal. Kentucky came out in the second half and scored in the 55thminute off of a penalty shot by Kalil ElMedkhar and in the 87thminute by Brock Lindow
“Tonight was the most consistent effort for 90 minutes we have put together since the Central Arkansas game,” said head coach Jeff Kinney. “Unfortunately, when you play the No. 4 team in the country, you need to be almost error free and we weren’t tonight. It was a good fight and a match to build on leading up to South Carolina next weekend.”
