BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 15-ranked Florida Atlantic beach volleyball (12-8, 1-0 C-USA) will head to the panhandle this weekend for another competitive weekend at the Unconquered Invitational on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8.
The Sandy Owls will face another tough field this weekend in Tallahassee, including three top-10 opponents in No. 5 LSU (18-8), No. 7 Loyola Marymount (18-3, 4-0 WCC), and host No. 3 Florida State (24-3, 5-1 CCSA), as well as taking on Southern Miss.
The Sandy Owls will open the weekend with a pair of rematches on Friday, first taking on Southern Miss at 12:15 p.m. Florida Atlantic will then face off against No. 7 Loyola Marymount at 2:15 p.m. The Sandy Owls are 3-0 all-time against Southern Miss, including earning a 5-0 sweep against the Golden Eagles earlier this season on March 4. However, Florida Atlantic trails 0-2 all-time against LMU, which included a 5-0 defeat earlier this season during the Battle for LA on March 11.
Florida Atlantic continues play on Saturday taking on No. 5 LSU for a 9:45 a.m. first serve. The Sandy Owls will close out the weekend at 1:30 p.m. with a dual against host No. 3 Florida State. Florida Atlantic is 4-7 all-time against LSU and won the last meeting against the Tigers 3-2 on March 20, 2022. The Sandy Owls trail Florida State 0-13 in the all-time series, including a pair of defeats last season on Feb. 27, 2022, and April 1, 2022.

Florida Atlantic will remain on the road next week as they head to Fort Myers, Florida to take on the FGCU Eagles for a pair of duals at 1 and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12.
