BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s 10th-ranked men’s tennis team closed out its regular-season home slate on Friday afternoon, defeating Florida National University, 4-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

·         Lynn swept two doubles flights and led in the third to clinch the pairs point.

·         Kay Bartmann and Patrick Bessinger swept the top doubles flight, 6-0, with Gabriel Hocevar and Lucca Baptista posting the same score in the No. 2 match.

·         Ryan Neale and Jose Porfirio Ordonez led 3-2 at No. 3 doubles.

·         The Blue and White needed just three straight-set wins in singles play to end the contest.

·         Baptista (6-0, 6-4) and Hocevar (6-3, 6-1) each picked up their second wins of the afternoon at the second and fourth flights, respectively.

·         Robin Calais debuted in singles play, winning the No. 5 bout, 6-1, 6-3.

·         Bartmann, Porfirio Ordonez and Diego Valant were all up a set in their singles matches at the first, third and sixth flights, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

·         This match was originally scheduled for March 18, but was postponed due to weather.

·         Valant made his Lynn and collegiate debut. Neale appeared in his third match of the spring season.

UP NEXT:

Lynn closes out the regular season on Monday, April 15, with a 3:30 p.m. make-up match at Embry-Riddle.
