Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – The freshly pegged top-ranked team in the country, Lynn University, did not disappoint on Wednesday evening as the Fighting Knights women’s tennis squad logged a 7-0 victory over fifth-ranked Nova Southeastern in Sunshine State Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· The Fighting Knights swept the doubles competition, highlighted by a 6-2 victory at the top flight from Leolia Jeanjean and Ulyana Grib.
· Lynn took all six singles matches in straight sets to close out its South Florida adversary.
· No. 25 Jeanjean posted another upset in singles play, taking down eighth-ranked Natalia Espinal at the top flight, 6-1, 6-1.
· No. 35 Grib logged her second win of the day, winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
· At the middle tier, Federica Mordegan tallied a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at No. 3, while Eliska Petrackova had a tight first set before closing out the win, 7-6 (12-10), 6-3.
· No. 58 Eleonora Liga (6-3, 6-3) and Giorgia Pigato (6-4, 6-1) rounded out the lineup with straight-set wins at the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· Earlier today, Lynn was tabbed the No. 1 team in the country with the latest ITA National Rankings.
· The Fighting Knights have now defeated eight ranked opponents this season, including two ranked in the top five.
· In singles play, Jeanjean has now defeated all five of her ranked opponents, including four in the past five matches.
· Eleven of Lynn’s 17 victories this season have been shutouts.
· Lynn is 17-0 for the first time since 2016-17.
· The Fighting Knights snapped a seven-match home win streak for the Sharks, dating back to last season.
· NSU was without two of their veteran players in Ana Navas and Daniela Obando.

Lynn takes off for Saint Leo, Fla., this Friday, April 5, for a neutral-site matchup against No. 22 West Florida at 10 a.m.
