No. 1 Gators Gymnastics at No. 8 Arkansas Friday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 1 Florida heads west to face No. 8 Arkansas at the Barnhill Arena.

No. 8 Arkansas brings its highest ranking into a meeting with Florida since the 2015 season as the Razorbacks were also No. 8 when the two teams met for 2015 dual in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Gators’ Last Meet:
The Gators opened home action last Friday with a 197.25-196.075 victory over No. 7 Georgia. A trio of Gator juniors claimed the apparatus wins. Trinity Thomas won the opening two events – vault (9.90) and uneven bars (9.95). The wins for Leah Clapper (balance beam – 9.925) and Nya Reed (floor exercise – 9.975) were the second of their careers for the events. Reed’s mark set her collegiate high.

Florida sold out its physically-distanced tickets (2,203) for the Georgia dual.

No. 8 Arkansas meets its second opponent of 2021 this Friday as it opened the season with consecutive meets versus LSU. In Baton Rouge, La., on Jan. 8, Arkansas narrowly lost 196.55-196.35 to No. 3 LSU. In the Razorback’s home opener on Jan. 15, LSU claimed a 197.275-196.625 win. Junior Kennedy Hambrick won the 2021 opener all-around with a Razorback season-high total of 39.40.
