Nike #HLWBB Players of the Week (December 9)
INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State’s Angel Baker is the Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week after posting 34 points in the Raiders’ road victory at SMU on Friday, averaging 28.5 points per game for the week. Northern Kentucky’s Carissa Garcia scored 13 points against No. 2 Louisville to earn her first Nike® Freshman of the Week honor.

Sophomore Angel Baker turned in career-best performance on Friday night, tallying 34 points and pulling down five rebounds to lead Wright State to a 69-61 victory over SMU in Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas. Through two games on the road, Baker averaged 28.5 points per game. Friday’s contest marked the fourth consecutive 23+ point game for Baker and she has recorded double digits in 6 of the Raiders 7 games. She added 9 rebounds, 6 assists, four steals, and one block for the week. Baker is ranked 21st in the country with 19.7 points per game through 7 games.

Carissa Garcia led the Norse in scoring as Northern Kentucky hosted the No. 2 team in the nation on Sunday afternoon. The rookie guard poured in 13 points against Louisville, including a pair of 3-pointers. Garcia scored nine of her points in the first half alone, helping the Norse trail the Cardinals by just two points at the half. She also added a game-high five assists and grabbed three rebounds.
