OFFENSE: QB DANIEL JONES, NEW YORK GIANTS

  • Jones totaled 309 yards (202 passing, career-high 107 rushing) and two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing) in the Giants’ 23-17 victory in Jacksonville. He became the second player this season (Lamar Jackson) with 200 passing yards, 100 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in a single game.
  • This is the third-career Offensive Player of the Week award for Jones and first this season:
    • 2019: Week 3
    • 2021: Week 4
    • 2022: Week 7
  • Jones joins Kerry Collins (four-time winner) and Eli Manning (four-time winner) as the only Giants quarterbacks to earn the honor at least three times.

DEFENSE: CB MARCO WILSON, ARIZONA CARDINALS

  • Wilson recorded three tackles, two passes defensed and a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 42-34 win over New Orleans. He was the only NFC defensive player to record a go-ahead defensive touchdown in Week 7.
  • This is Wilson’s first-career Defensive Player of the Week award.
  • He is the fourth defensive back from of the University of Florida to win the award since 2000, joining Joe Haden, Janoris Jenkins and Lito Sheppard (three times).

  • This is his second Special Teams Player of the Week Award, having previously won the award in Week 6 of the 2020 season.
  • This marks the second consecutive week that a player from Tulane University was named Special Teams Player of the Week, after Vikings rookie punter Ryan Wright earned the honor in Week 6.
