MOTOR CITY CRUISE WINS BACK-AND-FORTH CONTEST OVER G LEAGUE IGNITE

Las Vegas, Nevada – The Motor City Cruise traveled to Las Vegas this week for their final two games of the Winter Showcase. After 15 lead changes and nine total ties, The Cruise won tonight’s game over the G League Ignite, with a score of 96-88. Keifer Sykes returned from a left hamstring injury and made the game winning shot to hit the target score.

After losing four straight games, Coach Bakker and the Cruise were hungry for a win tonight. Devontae Cacok returned from a broken nose injury and led the way for the Cruise, scoring 19 points. He scored 11 in the first quarter alone. He also grabbed 12 rebounds to secure his eighth double-double of the Winter Showcase. Buddy Boeheim shot 5-10 from beyond the arc to tally 15 points in the win. ShawnDre Jones and Stanley Umude would follow up with scoring 12 points. Jones would score 10 of his points in the third quarter.

For G League Ignite, Cameron Young led the way with 18 points off the bench. He grabbed five rebounds and tallied an assist. Sidy Cissoko dropped 14 points to follow up. John Jenkins and London Johnson would tally up 13 each. Lastly on the defensive side, Leonard Miller grabbed a total of 14 rebounds, which led the team tonight. He grabbed six of them in the first and third quarter alone.

              Motor City Cruise improved to 4-13 after tonight’s win. G League Ignite would fall to 4-13, as both teams now share the same record in the Winter Showcase. The Motor City Cruise will be back in action to take on Memphis Hustle on Thursday. This will be their final game of the Winter Showcase. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm EST (2:30pm PST).
