MOTOR CITY CRUISE COMPLETES FOURTH QUARTER COMEBACK TO EXTEND WINNING STREAK

WILMINGTON – The Motor City Cruise traveled to Wilmington, Delaware looking to extend their winning streak to five games. A win would tie their franchise record for the longest winning streak in Cruise history (showcase and regular season). The Motor City Cruise would stun the Delaware Blue Coats tonight, with a score of 116-111.Prior to tonight’s contest, Keifer Sykes would be out with a hamstring injury. ShawnDre Jones took his spot tonight at the point. Stanley Umude returned to Motor City after being re-acquired by the Cruise, due to the end of his 10-day contract with the Detroit Pistons.Buddy Boeheim began shooting lights out in the first quarter. He shot 5-8 from beyond the arc in just the first quarter alone. He shot 6-10 overall and scored 18 points to end the first. However, Delaware’s hot offense would keep them in the game. At the end of the first, Motor City led with a score of 38-35. The Blue Coats came back strong in the second quarter taking back the lead with a 14-5 run. At the end of the first half, the former Cruise Braxton Key led Delaware with 14 points. Buddy Boeheim led the Cruise with 21. Blue Coats led the Cruise 68-61 to end the first half.To open the second half, the Cruise went on a 10-2 run to get the lead back. However, with a 10-0 run by Delaware, the Blue Coats would battle back to take the lead in the late middle of the third. After three quarters of action, Delaware led Motor City 96-88. With Delaware looking to close the game out, Motor City would complete a comeback in the fourth quarter after going on a 16-2 run with the last 5:25 to go in the game.The Cruise finished with four players scoring 20+ points in tonight’s game. Buddy Boeheim led Motor City with 28 points (G League career high). He shot 9-16 from the floor (6-12 beyond the arc) to end the night. Jaylen Johnson finished the game with 24 points and secured a double-double after grabbing 12 rebounds. Kyler Edwards followed up with 21 points, as Jared Rhoden dropped 20 for Motor City.Braxton Key and Michael Foster Jr. finished the night with 18 points to lead Delaware. Key secured a double-double after grabbing 12 rebounds against his former team.The Motor City Cruise improved to 10-11 and the Delaware Blue Coats fell to 13-6. The Motor City Cruise and Delaware Blue Coats will be back in action on February 24th at the Chase Fieldhouse (Wilmington, Delaware). Tip-off is slated for 7:00pm EST.
