MOTOR CITY CRUISE ACQUIRE ANTHONY TARKE

DETROIT –  The Motor City Cruise, NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today they have acquired forward Anthony Tarke from the available player pool.

Tarke (6-6, 220) began this season with the Wisconsin Herd, appearing in five games in the regular season and averaging 2.4 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 11.2 minutes per game.

The two-year NBA G League veteran began his professional career with the Motor City Cruise during the club’s inaugural season in 2021-22. Throughout his career, Tarke has appeared in a total of 42 games played in the showcase and regular season with the Herd, Cruise and Santa Cruz Warriors, and is averaging 3.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 12.1 minutes per game.

Tarke also spent the 2022-23 season playing overseas in the CIBACOPA League, representing Ostioneros de Guaymas (Mexico). In a total of 15 games, Tarke averaged 7.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24.0 minutes per game.

The Baltimore native played his first two years of collegiate basketball at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (2016-17, 2017-18), then transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso (2019-20) and played his final year at Coppin State during the 2020-21 season. In a total of 96 games played in the NCAA, the MEAC Player of the Year averaged 12.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.5 minutes per game.

The Motor City Cruise are set to take on the Cleveland Charge tonight at Wolstein Center (Cleveland, OH). Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
