Sally Sleuth started Sleuthing late in life. Sally is an old fashioned Sleuth. Sally’s middle name is SIMPLE. Sally’s sleuthing solutions are SIMPLE, like her middle name. Data science, algorithms, SEO and technology in general boggle Sally’s mind.
Sally’s inspiration for a second career as a Sleuth is her Great Aunt Sallie the Sleuth, a long lost relative, who she discovered from a DNA test.
Great Aunt Sallie the Sleuth made her debut in Spicy Comics in 1934. To quote from Thrilling Detective Web Site (Kevin Burton Smith) –
Thanks to her [Sally the Sleuth’s] sharp (and often miraculously intuitive) detective skills…., she [Sallie the Sleuth] soon gets the goods on the culprit, only to have the tables turned on her, whereupon she finds herself at the mercy of the villain and his henchmen, in some state of undress (usually bra and panties), fearing for her life… or worse.
Sallie Sleuth is shocked by her Great Aunt’s suggestive attire and risqué behavior, which definitely does not fly today, in the #METOO era.
Sally is basically incompetent as a Detective because she still believes in the Tooth Fairy. Great Aunt Sallie the Sleuth has inspired Sally Sleuth to set aside her Tooth Fairyness (compulsive compassion and kindness) and forge ahead with the important work of Sleuthing, her second career.
Sally’s image of herself is GOOD little girl Accountant, asexual and always fully clothed. Sally has mastered Basic Math and is a wizard with paper, pencil and calculator. Sally’s favorite book is New York Time’s Bestseller, Everybody Lies: Big Data, New Data, and What the Internet Can Tell Us About Who We Really Are by Seth Stephens- Davidowitz (2017).
Sally Sleuth is afraid of guns, knives and stuff that can cause physical harm. Sally always obeys the speed limit, brakes for ducks, and is afraid of heights. If you are looking for a Deep Throat Award, avoid Sally. Secrets are NOT safe with Sally.
Sally Sleuth purchased the URL www.sallysleuth.com but she hasn’t figured out how to build the web site yet so it looks like Sally will be sticking to a weekly column in the South Florida Tribune.
Sally Sleuth has a rich history in Florida – Saint Petersburg, Tampa, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County. Sally’s parents met at St. Petersburg Beach. Her mother was a soda jerk at a drug store and her father was a bell hop at the Vinoy Park Hotel during “The Season.” In the summer, Sally’s mother and grandmother “did resort work” in the
Lakeland District north of Toronto, Canada and her father sold fur coats out of the back of a truck.
Sally Sleuth was born in Boston, the SON of an Irish Catholic in the Kennedy Family tradition. After Sally’s birth, her father went into the Family Business – Garbage and Sewers. Sally’s father began training her for the Family Business when she was 5 years old. Sally trained as the Accountant to support her father the Engineer/Salesman.
Sally became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Treasurer of a New York Stock Exchange Company, Chief Investment Officer of Community and Education Foundations and Chief Financial Officer of large and small non-profit organizations in the Arts, Education, Healthcare and Social Justice.
Sally’s two proudest moments – she was the only old white woman speaker at the Inaugural Black Tech Week in Miami AND Sally was fired by Mike Milken, the Junk Bond King and the only Wall Street kingpin who actually went to jail.
In her sleuthing, Sally relies on her Partners in Crime, an eclectic group of former Drug Dealers, Addicts, Convicted Felons, White Collar Criminals, Police, Fire, Teachers, Artists, Musicians and other folks she meets in local bars, clubs, restaurants, coffee shops and gyms.
Sally Sleuth’s investigations always end with an ACTION PLAN. Sally believes in TRUTH, JUSTICE and the AMERICAN WAY – Superheroes solve Crimes quickly and efficiently.
