Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions Preview

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

Minnesota comes to Detroit as a 10 win team (10-3) to face our Lions (5-7). But those 3 losses for Minnesota has been against teams that have good to above average defenses. The Lions are 1st in QB pressures, Hits, 3rd in INTs so far, and are improving every week defensively since the firing of DB Coach and Defensive Passing Game Coordinator Aubrey Pleasant.

Minnesota’s wins have been against average to bad teams and barely skating by, including a week 3 win by 3 against the Lions.

Keys to the game:
Keep maintaining gap control when facing the run on defense. Keep pressure on Cousins when he’s passing. Jeff Okudah held one of the best WRs (Justin Jefferson) in the league to 3 catches for 14 yards in the first match up. I expect him to be on him again.

Offensively, they need to keep running the ball to set up playaction for the 2nd best playaction passer in the league.
By the numbers Goff is higher than Cousins in every QB metric this season.

I expect a good game, and that will be way more competitive than anyone thinks.

If the Lions win
Minnesota 24
Detroit        33

If it falls apart
Minnesota  27
Detroit         24
