MIAMI MARLINS SELECT RHP NOBLE MEYER WITH 10TH OVERALL SELECTION IN 2023 MLB FIRST-YEAR PLAYER DRAFT

The 18-year-old, deemed by Baseball America as “the clear-cut top prep pitching prospect in the class”, earned 2022-2023 Gatorade Oregon Baseball Player of the Year honors

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins tonight selected right-handed pitcher Noble Meyer out of Jesuit High School (Ore.) with the 10th overall selection in the 2023 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Meyer, 18, was named the 2022-2023 Gatorade Oregon Baseball Player of the Year following his senior season, leading his team to the state championship with a 10-1 record in 31 games, posting a 0.33 ERA, 128 strikeouts, and 19 walks over 63.0 innings pitched. The 6-foot-5 right-hander from West Linn, Ore. was ranked No. 7 overall by Baseball America, No. 8 by MLB Pipeline, and No. 9 by ESPN.com. Additionally, Meyer was named the No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Baseball Report.

His four-seam fastball velocity has reached 97 to 98 miles per hour, and his repertoire includes a slider, changeup, and curveball that registered at 3000-plus rotations per minute at the National High School Invitational in March of this year.
